“Six lanes, no queue”: speakeasy themed darts bar opened in Putney, London
The bar opened on Thursday 8 October and is an extension of Putney’s sole nightclub, Le Fez
Open three nights a week, Annie’s Room offers dedicated bowling alley-style lanes for darts fans.
It is located on Upper Richmond Road, an area off the high street largely dominated by retail shops and estate agents.
Annie’s Room offers pizza, cocktails and beer, along with many darts games beyond the standard 501 or 301 played in most pubs.
At its opening, social media personality John Fisher, more commonly known as Big John, made an appearance.

While queues outside the bar have been long, its advent comes at a time where business in the area has been struggling.
Annie’s Room occupies the basement area of Le Fez, suggesting the nightclub wanted to expand their offering without spending more on rent.
Since July 2025, Putney High Street, and adjacent streets, have been subject to Wandsworth Council’s Cumulative Impact Policy (CIP).
The CIP, introduced by the Conservative-led council in July 2025, stated that “Putney High Street register[ed] a high volume of alcohol related ambulance callouts and reported concerns on assaults, noise, littering and vandalism.”

“The Authority recognises that it must balance the needs of business operators with those of local residents. However, currently the number and type of premises are impacting negatively on the licensing objectives.”
Additionally, the council argued that residential roads which can be directly accessed from Putney High Street and Upper Richmond Road were at risk of “overcrowding, unpredictable behaviour, noise, litter and road safety [worsening].”

Ultimately, the council’s decision has made it difficult and costly, if not impossible, for a new bar, pub or club to open in the CIZ.
So Le Fez’s decision to turn an area of their licensed premises into a new bar avoids said restrictions.
